In the festive month of December, you can experience a truly special adventure on the Pohorje Treetop Walk, where the entire path will be richly illuminated, guiding visitors into a true winter wonderland.
From December 6th to January 7th, you can take a stroll along the magical, light-lit path between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM (with the last entry at 7:00 PM), leading you straight into the heart of the winter Magic Forest.
A walk through the evening forest is something truly special and will undoubtedly delight all nature lovers and those seeking new adventures during the winter months. The Pohorje Treetop Walk will ensure that every visitor's stroll through the Magic Forest awakens their imagination. The illuminated path will not only create a magical atmosphere, but it will also feature 3D and 2D animal figures lit by lights, as well as various winter motifs along the way.
A shy deer will greet you from around the corner, an owl will watch over the darkest corner, and glowing winter figures will invite you from afar to take a photo with the fairytale backdrop. Those who wish for a complete experience can also listen to audio tales of animal fables during their walk along the "lit" path. These stories, which can be encountered on the magical stroll, carry lessons on friendship, happiness, cooperation, and courage. Visitors can enter the fable library right at the entrance. By scanning a QR code, they can download the stories to their phones and listen to them as they walk along the path. To make the experience even more authentic, the use of headphones is recommended.
Since the Pohorje Treetop Walk wants visitors to take home the most beautiful memories from their stroll, they have prepared instructions on how to capture a photo of the illuminated path with a smartphone. These instructions are available at the entrance and can also be found online. After the walk, visitors are also invited to the souvenir shop, where they can find a variety of interesting products from local creators and suppliers.
A Winter Fairytale for Everyone
The Pohorje Treetop Walk has become a popular excursion point in recent years, attracting more and more visitors to explore the treetops year-round. In winter, at an altitude of 1,517 meters, it represents the ideal destination for experiencing nature in the colder months, as Rogla transforms into a true winter fairytale land.
Whether you are an experienced nature explorer or someone who has just started discovering its beauty, the Pohorje Treetop Walk is suitable for hikers of all ages due to its accessibility. The entire path, including the observation tower, is barrier-free and adapted for strollers and wheelchair users.
You can drive to the entrance point, with parking available between the Treetop Walk and Hotel Planja. The path is open every day of the year, except for November 1st and December 24th. Even during snowfalls in winter, the path is cleared and suitable for walking. A visit to the Pohorje Treetop Walk can be a wonderful day trip or an adventure after skiing on Rogla.
